Sugar Beach

The perfect summer day is spending some time in the sun at Sugar Beach.

Beaches in this city are interesting. They are either too packed, too remote, or a bit too sketchy and smell like Lake Ontario. Sugar Beach, however, is a different sort of thing. There are Muskoka chairs, permanent pink umbrellas for shade, and sugary-white sand.

Sitting on the east section of the Harbourfront, it is across from Redpath Sugar (hence the name). It's really neat to watch the ships come in to get filled with sugar while you suntan.

The best part is that there is a Loblaws across the street from which we buy our lunch, and the Corus building sits right beside the beach - perfect for a snack afterward.

For more information, check out Waterfront Toronto and for food and beverage afterward, visit Against the Grain located in the Corus building.
